Maria is a Senior Associate in the Construction and Engineering unit at Burges Salmon LLP. She joined Burges Salmon in 2005 having previously trained at Wedlake Bell LLP in London.
Maria has over 12 years' experience in providing construction legal advice to a broad range of clients including property developers, public authorities, contractors and funders. She specialises in all aspects of non-contentious construction and engineering law and real estate development, with a particular focus on the education sector.
Examples of recent projects that Maria has advised on include The Crown Estate's £350million St James's Market development, The University of Bristol's National Composite Centre project, various development projects at the O2 for AEG, redevelopment of the Forum central campus at the University of Exeter and a number of projects within the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point for Devon County Council, East Devon District Council and Exeter Science Park Limited including Cranbrook Education Campus, St Martin's Primary School and Exeter Science Park.
Maria sits on the committee of the NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) where she represented their South West branch for five years. She is also a member of the Forum for the Built Environment.
