‘Constructing the Gold Standard’ – an online Open Forum
About this event
The King’s College London Centre of Construction Law Open Forum will examine in detail ‘Constructing the Gold Standard’, Professor David Mosey’s independent review of public sector construction frameworks and its far-reaching recommendations approved by Government in December 2021.
Cabinet Office Minister Lord Agnew stated that ‘The new Gold Standard will make sure that vital public sector developments have rigorous measures in place to make sure public money is spent well and that projects are delivered successfully. This will be welcomed across the public sector, the construction industry and by the public, who have a right to expect the best possible public sector projects’.
At the Open Forum, you will gain insights as to serious failings identified by the 120 review participants and learn how Constructing the Gold Standard can improve value, reduce risks and meet Net Zero Carbon targets.
Speakers include Professor David Mosey plus industry leaders from Crown Commercial Service, Environment Agency, National Association of Construction Frameworks, VINCI, Speller Metcalfe, AECOM, Cara EPS, Fenwick Elliott, Trowers & Hamlins, On-Pole and King’s College London.
We will examine and discuss with delegates the impact of Gold Standard frameworks, framework contracts and action plans on:
- Translating strategic objectives into measurable results
- Combining leadership, management and effective collaboration
- Delivering Net Zero Carbon targets
- Improving profitability and successfully managing risks
- Supply chain collaboration, SMEs and social value
- Improved safety and modern methods of construction
- Whole life value and digital technology
- New roles for legal and procurement advisers.
This is a virtual event. Attendees will be emailed the link to join the forum ahead of time.
