Retrofit in Heritage Buildings – Risks and Opportunities
Presented by Jonathan Davis of Powerhaus, Josh Heath & Paloma Hermosa of WWA.
Historic buildings play an important role in our society. They provide meaningful connections to the past and add character to our built environment. Recent analysis estimates that nearly a quarter of all UK homes, 6.2m properties, are historic buildings (built prior to 1919).
In addition, there are around 600,000 historic commercial properties in the UK, accounting for almost a third of commercial buildings. Despite this, the UK does not currently have a joined-up strategy for tackling the energy efficiency of the UK’s buildings.
This CESW workshop will share knowledge, information and experience gained from renovating, restoring and retrofitting historic buildings designed to dramatically improve their comfort levels, cost of ownership and carbon profile.
