David Ashford, WWA

David is the People and Culture Lead for WWA, having joined the company in 2021. He oversees the whole HR function, but has a particular focus on Learning and Development.

David’s CV is an interesting read. He has an English and French degree, and initially trained as a secondary school teacher. He taught in and around Bath for 8 years, and ended up as a Head of Year: responsible for 253 13 year olds! He worked as a manager for Michael Caines, successfully running the Wellhouse pub and then the fine dine restaurant that made up the ground floor of the Royal Clarence Hotel. More recently, he spent 7 years as the Commercial Manager of the Killerton Estate (National Trust) before completing an HR Management degree and moving into HR.

David’s passion is for values-based/people-centric organisations and putting in the policies and processes that help to create that. WWA is proud of its B Corp certification and the fact that it has a particularly high score for ‘Workers’.

Jonathan Davis, Hoare Lea

Mindful of the increasingly urgent need for all of us to live a “1 planet” lifestyle, I aspire to help people, businesses and other organisations make the most of renewable technologies to become more profitable and more sustainable.

Not so much an eco-warrior I am more an energy pragmatist encouraging better use of available technologies and access to new revenues. I enjoy a diverse range of project technologies at all scales in my work.  I am particularly keen to advocate “whole life cost of ownership” as a defining metric for asset management.
