Please join us for a visit around Hallenbeagle which is a Waste Transfer Site currently being constructed for SUEZ . There will be a site tour followed by refreshments and a pasty donated by Kier Construction.
A new waste and recycling hub is being developed on a 7-acre brownfield site in Cornwall to support the region’s updated household waste collection service. Replacing SUEZ’s existing operations in Pool, the facility will process around 140,000 tonnes of waste annually, helping to increase recycling rates and support Cornwall Council’s net zero goals. The site includes a Materials Recycling Facility, Refuse Transfer Station, Baler building, and a timber-framed office, all built on remediated ground. The main 8,400m² building features reinforced concrete structures and extensive infrastructure, including on-site drainage treatment, a new HV substation, and a 1-megawatt rooftop solar array. The process plant, integrated into the construction phase, spans over 3,000m² and includes complex systems like fire suppression and gas monitoring.
