CESW’s Leadership & Collaboration course aims to inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
Now preparing to launch its third programme later this month, the course is open to CESW members who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. Forty-five members have already completed the intensive eight-day programme across two previous sessions in 2024, gaining valuable skills and insights along the way.
Accredited at the equivalent of a Level 4 HNC, the course is currently supported by Gloucestershire College. CESW has also secured additional funding to extend the opportunity, with an additional eight days of training now offered in the Wiltshire area for 15 industry professionals.
The course is co-delivered by Howard Betts of LeadersMeets and CESW Chief Executive Kevin Harris. Howard has partnered with CESW since 2019, delivering webinars and supporting leadership initiatives.
A personal approach
Howard said: “The reception from the course has been absolutely brilliant. We’ve had some very good feedback. The majority of people who come on it probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity to spend eight days focused on leadership otherwise.
“My approach is very personal. I think that leaders need to learn about themselves rather than just focusing on theories and models.”
Most participants so far have been in their 20s, keen to deepen their understanding of leadership and collaboration while building practical and interpersonal skills. The course places strong emphasis on self-awareness, leadership styles and collaboration tools.
Howard added: “My aspiration for people leaving the course is to be better leaders and, hopefully, model better leadership to others.”
A fourth Leadership & Collaboration course is scheduled for this autumn, and CESW members are invited to apply. To express your interest, please get in touch at admin@cesw.org.uk..
