Tilbury Douglas have kindly offered us 15 spaces to meet their new Robot – Douglas.
It’s a data capturing tool for site and it’s doing a tour of various sites around the UK, coming to Exeter on the 8th June.
The robot, named Douglas, has been introduced to support and assist site teams by undertaking time-consuming administrative data-collection tasks, enabling colleagues to focus on technical and operational responsibilities.
The robot is capable of autonomously navigating the construction site to capture 360-degree imagery and detailed progress reports. This data will also support health and safety monitoring and reporting processes. The initiative is expected to save an average of 40 hours per month, driving greater efficiency while maintaining high standards of compliance and oversight.
This trial marks an important step in Tilbury Douglas’ digital transformation journey, demonstrating how emerging technologies can enhance operational performance while supporting the industry’s evolving workforce needs.
We will also get an opportunity to tour the site of the South West Exeter Community Building and GP Surgery being constructed by Tilbury Douglas as part of the South West Exeter Housing Infrastructure Fund programme.
